Booking & Logistics

How far in advance do I need to book?

For most events, two to three weeks notice is enough. For larger events, school workshops, or dates around busy periods (Christmas, Halloween, summer), four to six weeks is better. Get in touch as early as you can and I will let you know availability.

Do you travel outside Galway?

Yes — I am based in Galway but available nationwide. Travel costs may apply for events outside Connacht. Just mention your location when you get in touch.

How much does a session cost?

Pricing depends on the format, group size, duration, and location. I do not publish fixed prices because most sessions are tailored. Get in touch with your event details and I will put together a clear, straightforward proposal.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a deposit is required to confirm a booking. Details are included in the proposal I send after we discuss your event.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens. I ask for as much notice as possible. Cancellation and rescheduling terms are outlined clearly in the booking agreement.

The Sessions

Do guests need any experience with tabletop games?

None at all. The whole point of having a facilitator is that nobody has to know the rules in advance. I explain everything, manage the game, and make sure everyone can just play from the first minute.

What do you bring? What do I need to provide?

I bring everything needed to run the session — games, character cards, dice, materials. You provide the space and the people. A table and chairs are all that is usually needed.

How many people can you run a session for?

It depends on the format. D&D works best with 3–8 players. Social deduction games can run for 8–30 people. Adult game nights suit 6–20. School workshops can accommodate up to 30 students. If you have a larger group or an unusual situation, get in touch — most things can be adapted.

Can sessions be run at my venue or home?

Yes. I come to you. Whether that is a private home, a community hall, a school, a pub function room, or a venue you have booked — I work with the space you have.

What if some of my guests are really not into games?

That is actually the most common situation. I have been running sessions for sceptics for years. The format is designed so that no one feels put on the spot. Reluctant participants are usually the most fun to watch come around.

Kids & Schools

Are the children's sessions genuinely age-appropriate?

Yes. Children's social deduction sessions use completely different content and formats to adult sessions. Roles are positive, no one is voted out and left sitting alone, and the pacing is faster and more energetic to suit younger players. The adult game content — Cards Against Humanity and similar — is kept entirely separate and is clearly 18+ only.

Are you Garda vetted?

Yes. I am fully Garda vetted and trained in child safeguarding and adult safeguarding best practice. Documentation is available on request.

Can school sessions count towards Transition Year or SPHE programmes?

The sessions naturally develop communication, critical thinking, leadership, and collaboration skills. They can work well alongside TY programmes, SPHE, or digital wellness initiatives. I am happy to discuss how a session could fit into your school's programme.

What age are the kids' sessions suitable for?

Social deduction sessions for children work well from around age 8 upward. I adapt the format for different age ranges — an 8-year-old group runs very differently to a group of 14-year-olds. Let me know the ages when you get in touch.

Adult Events

Is the adult game night (Cards Against Humanity etc.) actually 18+?

Yes, strictly. There is no crossover between adult game content and any youth or children's offering. If you are booking for a mixed-age group, I will recommend a format that works for everyone.

Can a D&D session work for a hen or stag do?

Absolutely — it is one of the most popular formats for hen and stag groups. A one-shot adventure is self-contained, requires no prior knowledge, and creates a genuinely memorable experience. I can tailor the tone from light and comedic to dramatic and epic depending on what the group will enjoy.

Can I combine formats in one event?

Yes. For longer events — a full afternoon or evening — it often works well to run a social deduction session and then move into a D&D one-shot, or to run multiple rounds of different social deduction games. Tell me what you are planning and I will suggest a programme.
